Darriana and Blake told me that they really loved this engagement session that I did and wanted a location with the same rustic charm. That’s how we ended up at Bonelli Park in San Dimas. Bonelli Park has rolling hills, a beautiful lake, great hiking trails and cool wooded areas where we could just get lost. I’m very thankful to the guys for their patience, readiness for physical exercise (hiking) and all the cool extra clothing they brought to make their engagement shoot really special. Looking forward to the wedding!
This recent engagement session was done at Knapp’s Castle. However, Knapp’s Castle is not much of a castle anymore. Knapp’s Castle is a landmark ruined mansion in the Santa Ynez Mountains near Santa Barbara, California. This is an awesome place to take photographs, located in the Los Padres National Forest, the ridge-top site has a panoramic view of Lake Cachuma and the Santa Ynez Valley. It maybe a little hard to find, but once you get there the walk is short and not very difficult. We spent a couple hours there getting some great shots with the ruins and an a cool old swing that could be a little problematic to maneuver but once we got the hang of it the photos came together smoothly.
Kristin and Eric’s engagement photos at Malibu Creek Wilderness Park were filled with love and affection. Malibu Creek is famous for being the location for the old M.A.S.H television series. Malibu Creek State Park sits in 10,000 acres of rugged terrain near the Malibu coast, protecting flowing creeks, man-made lakes, historic structures, and prominent cliffs. Kristin and Eric were feeling adventurous, so they braved the rugged terrain for a few photos and I’m so glad they did. I can’t wait to photograph them again on their big day in December!
