One of the things I love is photographing weddings at unique and out-of-the-way places. Recently, I had the chance to photograph Janelle and Michael’s wedding at a unique place called The Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton, California. Felton is located in Northern California, just north of Santa Cruz. The Roaring Camp Railroads is home to a centuries old Redwood Grove that features a self-guided nature path. The Roaring Camp Railroad ceremonies are held in a stunning Cathedral Grove located on Bear Mountain, which is accessible by a vintage steam train. While at the Cathedral Grove site, Janelle and Michael exchanged their vows underneath ancient, towering redwoods with beautiful streaming light behind them. After the ceremony the guests made their way back down via the train stopping to catch a few quick priceless photos on the way down. Thier guests were treated to an authentic wagon train style dinner with all the fixings, along with an old-fashioned marshmallow roasting party thrown in to boot. Below are few of my favorite shots from Janelle and Michael’s magical day. Enjoy!
